FOR A GREEN VIETNAM' - SAIGONTOURIST TOURISM JOINS HANDS IN PLANTING TREES IN CAN GIO MANGROVE FOREST
This morning, on April 20th, Saigontourist Tourism Company organized a tree planting program in Can Gio - the World Biosphere Reserve, the green lung of Ho Chi Minh City. The event was attended by the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the General Director, Party Cells, the Trade Union Executive Committee, the Youth Union Executive Committee, the Block Directors, and the Functional Departments of the company.
This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate significant holidays: Reunification Day on April 30, 2024, International Labor Day on May 1, 2024; Responding to the government's project of planting 1 billion trees from 2021 to 2025; Responding to the Green Living Day and the Environment Action Month in 2024 organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism; Celebrating Earth Day on April 22, while demonstrating the pioneering role towards green tourism, sustainable tourism, and responsible tourism of Saigontourist Tourism Company, with efforts towards Green Tourism - Sustainable Growth, and towards meeting the sustainable criteria of Travelife (internationally recognized sustainable tourism development certification).
In addition to the meaningful activities of planting trees in Can Gio such as: experiencing the green carpet of the mangrove forest; visiting and learning about the ecosystem of the mangrove forest, Can Gio Biosphere Reserve; organizing a tree planting ceremony to celebrate Earth Day; planting White Mangrove trees in Long Hoa commune to increase green areas and forest coverage in the mangrove forest, Saigontourist Tourism Company also donated funds to the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve Management Board to support the purchase of waste collection equipment, ensuring cleanliness and landscape preservation of the Can Gio mangrove forest.
