* Location: Ba Den Mountain is located 11km Northeast of Tay Ninh Town and 106km from Ho Chi Minh City.
* Characteristics: It is a famous complex of cultural, historical and beautiful sites covering an area of more than 24km2. The complex includes three mountains: Heo, Phung and Ba Den, of which the 986m-high Ba Den is the highest peak in the South.
Ba Den Mountain is also called Black Lady Mountain. According to legends, beautiful Ly Thi Thien Huong, Black Lady, was forced to marry the son of a rich mandarin while she fell in love with a poor man who was fighting the aggressors. Rather than marrying a man she did not love, she threw herself from the mountain.
* Highest peak in the South:
Often referred to as the roof of southeast Vietnam, Ba Den Mountain is usually reached by a lengthy hike to the top, which can take a few hours. With a height of 986 meters, the 1,500 steps can be a bit daunting. Luckily, the Sun World Ba Den Mountain Cable Car shortens the journey to only 8 minutes from the foot of the mountain (Ba Den Station) to the top (Van Son Station). The Van Son cable car covers a total travel distance of 1,847 meters as 113 cabins service visitors.
The second route, the Hang Pagoda cable car system, takes visitors only 5 minutes to move from the foot of the mountain (Ba Den Station) to the cultural and spiritual complex of Ba and Hang Pagodas (Hang Pagoda Station). The Hang Pagoda cable car route covers a total distance of 1,211 meters and has 79 cabins. This allows visitors to safely reach this natural and spiritual site, home to Ba Den’s sacred altar.
* Cultural tourism site
Several shrines and pagodas were built in the mountain as well as in the caves. The most noteworthy are Ba Den (or Linh Son Tien Thach, or Upper) Pagoda rebuilt in 1997, and Ba Temple where preserves bronze statue of Ba Den. In addition, one should not forget Ha (Lower), Trung (Middle), and Hang pagodas and various caves of Kim Quang, Kim Son, Thanh Long, Dai Dong and Thien Thai. Ba and Hang Pagodas attract many pilgrims during the New Lunar Year and Vu Lan Festivals.
Ba Den Mountain is a holy place of the local people and an interesting cultural and eco-tourism site for domestic and international visitors.
