Bau Trang is a well-known destination located about 60 km from Phan Thiet city.
Characteristics
Bau Trang (White Lake) is actually a fairyland in the middle of sand dunes. Surrounded by hot sand hills, the two freshwater lakes here make this place like a miraculous oasis with countless beautiful lotus flowers.
The boundless sand can easily arouse your inspiration, no matter you are a professional photographer or not. Just take your camera out and snap anything you want, as much as you can. Because you may be regretfully seeing these photo at home and wonder why you yourself did not take more picture of this glamorous place.
Apart from sand dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see, this place is also famous for its beautiful lotus lake and a fascinating fresh water lake. It would be so amazing sitting on a boat, swimming around the lake or anchor and fishing while seeing the ripples regularly chasing each other.
Tourists should go to Bau Trang in Summer, when the lotuses are beautiful blooming. The ideal time during the day are 5 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM.
Transportation
- From Ha Noi: by coach or train; or to save time, by plane to Ho Chi Minh city, then catch the taxi to the lake.
- From Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet: catch the bus at the Mien Dong Bus station. From Phan Thiet back to Ho Chi Minh City: catch the bus at the Phan Thiet Bus station. The distance between Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet is about 188km.
