At 11:30 on May 17, 2022 (local time) or 1:30 a.m. on May 18 (Vietnam time) in San Francisco, California, U.S.A., under the witness of the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Mr. Nguyen Huu Y Yen - General Director of Saigontourist Travel Service Company signed a memorandum of understanding on a comprehensive partnership strategy with partners in the U.S. and Vietnam Airlines for the purpose of continuing promote cooperation and development of mutual tourism between Vietnam and the United States. This is an event in the tour of the Prime Minister at the Trade - Investment - Tourism Promotion Conference between Vietnam and the United States from May 11 to May 17, 2022.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Huu Y Yen affirmed the United States is the key market in the long-term development orientation and has actively built the program "Vision- Destination to the U.S. in the period of 2022-2025", focusing on advertising, promotion, market expansion, and development of specific products and services. Especially promoting international cruise tourism, marketing Vietnamese destinations to American tourists through many travel fairs in the U.S., cooperating with the Vietnamese Embassy/ Consulate in the U.S., with Vietnam Airlines, as well as through many trusted partners already in the U.S., especially sea cruise line companies, river cruise line companies and yachts.
Besides, Saigontourist also cooperates with partners in the U.S. to introduce and promote U.S. tourism to the potential Vietnamese tourist market, continuing to make the U.S. be one of the favorite destinations of Vietnamese tourists. Saigontourist Travel believes that the process of cooperation, developing the tourism market in particular between the two countries will also open many doors of hope and new prospects in the near future.
Every year, Saigontourist Travel receives and serves about 30,000 U.S. tourists to travel in Vietnam by air and sea tours. In the opposite direction, Saigontourist Travel brings Vietnamese tourists to visit and travel in the United States about 3,000 visitors per year. According to the existing cruise lines schedule from its cruise ship partners, in 2022-2023 Saigontourist Travel is expected to receive a total of 23 cruise ships with an estimated total of 22,550 U.S. tourists. The cruise line companies that are currently strategic partners of Saigontourist Travel engaged in commercial exploitation of tourist itineraries to Vietnam in this portfolio including Silversea Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises, which are owned by the America’s leading cruise groups.
