Nguyen Hue Flower Street to open on 22 January 2020

HCMC – THE DAY BEFORE THE OPENING TIME, THE LANDSCAPES OF NGUYEN HUE FLOWER STREET WAS FINISHED

After nearly half month of contruction, Nguyen Hue spring flower road in the year of Rat has been basically completed to commence on 28th Tet.

The Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2020, themed “Ho Chi Minh city - Confidently Stepping Forward”.

2020 is the year of Rat that is chosen as sacred animal of Nguyen Hue Flower Street in this year. 130 mascots will be created along the 720-meter long street.

A family of rats singing and dancing to welcome spring will greet visitors at the entrance of the flower street.

The “Spring festival” - recreating the boat racing of Southern people by the mice. Daisies, marigolds,… show the water wave.

The art of Dong Ho paintings originated in the eponymous craft village on the banks of the Duong River in Bac Ninh Province, about 35 km (21 miles) from Hanoi in northern Vietnam.

All shapes and sizes of mice with many colors are decorated throughout the flower street.

The roof shape is designed to create a swirling strip to symbolize the diversity of the environment, combined with the subterranean flower bands and the water tower shape to show the intersection between nature and sky.

The tray with five types of fruit in the South of Vietnam on Tet Holidays is displayed in the middle, including custard, papaya, mango, coconut and fig show the desire of people who want to have a life of comfort.

Flowers are the most important part of Nguyen Hue Flower Street, so they should be taken care of and carefully prepared. Many kinds of decorative flowers from tropical to tropical species.

At the end, the flower road closes with Rats waving to visitors,. This year’s Tet flower road will be open from 07:00PM January 22 to 09:00PM January 28, 2020 (December 28 of the Lunar Calendar until the 4th of the Lunar New Year).
